We are settling into our new space on Drexel's Queen Lane campus. We are still moving the collections and are responding to research requests as efficiently as possible during this period. We appreciate your patience!
Please consult our online collection material for possible immediate reference help on women in medicine.
The Archives is the repository for the records and heritage of Drexel University College of Medicine and its predecessor institutions:
- Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, 1850-1867
- Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania (WMCP), 1867-1970
- Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP), 1970-1993
- Homeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania, 1848-1869
- Hahnemann Medical College, 1867-1982
- Hahnemann University, 1982-1993
- MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, 1993-1996
- Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, 1996-1998
- MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine, 1998-2002
is an extension of the holdings of each institution. The Women in Medicine collection emerged from WMC's unique position as an all-female medical school. Similarly, the Historic and Homeopathic Medicine collection grew from Hahnemann's original mission.
The Guide to the WMC/MCP and Women in Medicine Collections is online, searchable through the site-wide search engine, accessible through the search box in the upper right corner of every page or the advanced search page; or through the index of subjects and personal names.
Additionally, the Women in Medicine Collections can be searched at the collection level through the University Library's catalog. |
